When I finished this painting I could not help but 'to see the legendary and demonic "Dahut.
She was a princess of the mythical city of Ys. When the city was engulfed it turned into a mermaid renamed "Mary Morgan" and forever haunting the bay of Douarnenez.

I grant you that this is for me a rather sophisticated interpretation of the siren ...
